MODEST GENÉ

 

 

This work of art is a sculpture of Modest Gené. It's cut in wood and it's from Gené's african period. It's an african woman with a detailed necklace with balls and she has got a handkerchief around her head to cover her hair. She hasn't got clothes on. She's nacked but we can only see the upper part of her body. It seems real, the wood used to do it looks like the woman's real skin and the features of her face are impressively well done. The name of this sculpture is Nigeriana and I would call her Tessa
